BIO

Neville Wright is a distinguished professional with an extensive background in sports performance, coaching, and leadership. With a Bachelor of Physical Education, majoring in Sport Performance & Nutrition, Neville has consistently showcased his unwavering commitment to excellence, both in his athletic endeavours and professional pursuits. Since 2009, Neville has been a highly respected Acceleration & Speed Coach, holding NCCP certifications as a Sport Coach and Level 2 Sprint Coach. His deep expertise in speed and performance training has been honed through years of coaching athletes to national, professional, and Olympic levels, as well as through his own competitive experiences.

Neville's tenure with Team Canada Track & Field (2005-2008), Team Canada Bobsleigh (2009-2019), and his ongoing role with Team Canada Soccer (2022-present) reflect the reach of his involvement at the highest levels of sport. Some of his athletic accomplishments include being a 2x All Canadian, a 7x National Champion, and a 3x Olympian.

Beyond his remarkable athletic career, Neville is a skilled Performance & Recovery Massage Therapist, possessing a profound understanding of athlete recovery and performance optimization.

Through his expertise as both elite athlete and therapist, he has been sought after at major international sporting events, including his roles as a Performance & Recovery Therapist and Speed Consultant for Canadian Soccer, most notably the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 and Copa America 2024.

Neville is also a recognized leader within the sports community. He serves as a Board Member for AthletesCAN and has been the Chair of the Diversity & Equity Advisor Committee since 2021; also, contributing to Safe Sport in the landscape of sport. His leadership is reinforced by training in Effective Communication and Human Relations, Leadership & Performance Coaching, and Coaching for High Performance. A passionate advocate for diversity, equity, and inclusion, Neville is dedicated to mentoring and empowering the next generation of athletes and leaders. His extensive experience, combined with his unwavering commitment to high performance continues to push him on a daily basis to achieve excellence.
